Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Medical Assistant III to support clinical teams across its California campuses. The role blends administrative, clerical, and non-invasive clinical tasks under the guidance of a licensed provider, focusing on efficient patient flow and quality care.

Responsibilities include rooming, basic nursing tasks, phlebotomy, injections, EHR updates, and coordinating tests and referrals. A strong team player with two years of primary care experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Specialty-specific assisting training (plus)
• Two years of primary care clinical assisting experience with lab/tests duties

Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient appointments by reviewing and updating patient records (EHR)
• Prepare exam rooms with instruments prior to appointment
• Greet patients and complete rooming including vitals and med list
• Assist provider during examinations and ensure safety protocols
• Perform basic nursing tasks and phlebotomy when applicable
• Administer injections under supervision
• Maintain safe, comfortable patient environment and confidentiality
• Schedule tests and off-site procedures; assist with telehealth visits
