Job summary

GI Alliance seeks an experienced Medical Assistant II to support clinical and administrative duties. You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, perform screenings, and help with documentation and triage under provider guidance.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, accurate charting, and teamwork in a fast-paced gastroenterology setting. A higher level of independence may be required at times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, MA diploma from accredited program, or college course in medical assisting.
• Minimum one year of recent experience as a medical assistant in a medical facility; externship accepted.
• Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Level II requirements include 4+ years experience or increased independence.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow.
• Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with transfers.
• Collect patient history, vital signs, and screenings as directed.
• Chart, document, and relay information; triage calls; verify prescriptions with physicians.
• Handle clerical duties such as records, forms, scheduling, and insurance verification.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain patient rights and privacy.
