Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Utah is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant to provide patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting. You will assist clinicians, gather relevant visit information, and communicate with patients by phone and in person, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires MA training or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and basic computer skills for data entry and EMR usage.

Qualifications

Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah.
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
