Job summary

UPMC Gastroenterology of Central PA in Hanover, PA is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant Senior to join our specialty gastroenterology team. The role focuses on clinical supervision, patient care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordinating procedures, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high infection-control standards.

You will mentor staff, manage workflow, and collaborate with providers to improve clinical and non-clinical functions within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Leads workflow and assigns tasks to clinical staff.
• Mentors, orients and provides ongoing training to staff.
• Epic Care super user with system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Guides workflow and/or assigns tasks to other clinical staff.
• Assist management with supervisory activities and departmental goals.
• Serve as department super user for Epic Care.
• Identify improvement opportunities for clinical/non-clinical functions.
• Lead routine staff meetings to communicate procedural changes.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate chart management.
• Prepare patient rooms and assist with exams; collect vitals as needed.
• Maintain infection control and equipment cleanliness; restock supplies.
• Coordinate patient flow and assist with patient education.
