Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant (Sr. MA) to provide expert support for complex examinations, advanced treatments, and clinical procedures under physician or RN supervision. The role includes supervising MA staff, training, and ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA, and government standards.

The Sr. MA will assist with patient care, coordinate appointments, and verify medical necessity and eligibility while maintaining high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent with current certification.
• 5 years MA experience in chronic disease management or specialty.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and ensure medical necessity compliance.
• Verify eligibility for care and maintain patient records.
• Provide preceptor and clinical support to Medical Assistants.
