The Opportunity

The Senior Media Operations Technician is the technical lead and subject matter expert for the Media Operations Center supporting live broadcast and transmission. Reporting to the Media Operations Supervisor, you will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure broadcast quality and equipment functionality. You will report to the Manager of Media Operations.

Your Impact

As a Senior Media Operations Technician, you will be proficient in all systems and workflows to maintain high operational standards. You will ensure successful transmission output and seamless delivery across all broadcast platforms and streams, prioritizing operational workload and best practices. You will address technical issues promptly, escalating when necessary, and mentor less experienced team members to develop their skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage all incoming live and remote feeds, booking and scheduling remote broadcasts, and oversee transmission needs.
  2. Maintain output quality of all channels and monitor network devices for troubleshooting.
  3. Conduct quality control and integrity checks of video and audio signals.
  4. Lead the Media Operations team to meet operational standards.
  5. Support troubleshooting for transmission, control systems, graphics, cameras, robotics, switchers, and routers.
  6. Perform equipment installation, maintenance, debugging, and specify parts for repairs.
  7. Ensure maximum reliability of transmission and communication systems.
  8. Recommend and document procedures to prevent equipment failures.
  9. Establish standard operating procedures for transmission technologies, including remote QC and transmission.
Qualifications
  1. College Degree, Technical School, Military Training, or equivalent experience.
  2. 3+ years of leadership experience in engineering, media, or network operations within a broadcast environment.
  3. Experience troubleshooting broadcast equipment and systems, responding quickly to live broadcast issues.
  4. Component-level troubleshooting, systems design, and installation experience.
  5. Understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and technical requirements.
