Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a MECM Engineer to support a DoD enterprise modernization for USDON. The role emphasizes reliability, automation, and performance of enterprise MECM infrastructure across Windows environments.

Remote but report onsite to Norfolk, VA on short notice, with occasional CONUS travel. Responsibilities include designing MECM, automating deployments, monitoring with Splunk, and integrating with Intune/Azure AD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting MECM/SCCM environments.
• Strong experience managing Windows endpoint infrastructure, OS deployments, software distribution, patch management, and compliance baselines.
• Hands-on experience automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience integrating MECM with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and modern endpoint management technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with IaC technologies including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar automation platforms.
• Understanding of networking concepts supporting endpoint management (DPs, PXE, boundary groups).
• Experience in Agile/SRE/DevSecOps environments is highly preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance and IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain MECM infrastructure for large Windows environments.
• Automate endpoint management, deployments, OS deployments, patching, and configuration with PowerShell, Python, and IaC tools.
• Monitor system health with Splunk and other observability platforms.
• Develop and enhance automated CI/CD workflows for infrastructure deployment and testing.
• Build automated performance, stress, and failure tests to validate reliability.
• Troubleshoot MECM client/server issues and optimize endpoint performance.
• Integrate MECM with Intune, Azure AD, and Windows Update for Business.
• Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and operations to improve automation and reliability.
• Support Agile/DevSecOps initiatives; maintain DoD RMF and STIG compliance.
