Job summary

Rhoda AI is building the next generation of generalist robotic hands. You will own the mechatronic architecture of the entire hand system, setting architecture and leading three engineers to ship the system.

As the senior engineer on the Hand Team, you will define kinematic architecture and drive cross-subsystem tradeoffs while mentoring teammates across actuation, structures, and electronics. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware leadership in Mountain View and beyond.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing humanoid or dexterous robotic hands with multi-DoF mechanisms.
• Mechanical design experience with teleoperation exoskeletons or wearable mechanisms.
• Experience designing human-body attachment and ergonomic interfaces for wearable devices.
• Systems-level fluency across hand subsystems: structures, actuation, electronics; capable of cross-domain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechatronic architecture of the hand system.
• Define and safeguard the hand's kinematic architecture across the program.
• Lead mechanical design of wearable and teleoperation hardware, including operator ergonomics.
• Set subsystem requirements and drive integration across actuation, structures, and electronics.
• Drive prototyping, test, and design iteration across the hand program.
• Mentor actuator, structures, and electrical engineers on the team.
