Job summary

FARO is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design and tuning of servo control systems for precision metrology instruments. You will work on concept-to-production support, mentor teammates, and coordinate across departments and vendors to ensure performance and reliability.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in machine and servo control design, SolidWorks, FEA, and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• MS/PhD preferred in Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics with servo controls coursework.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide the mechanical engineering of subsystems.
• Lead servo control design and tuning for complex systems.
• Mentor engineers and review designs and analyses.
• Coordinate with related departments and vendors from concept to production.
