Job summary

G-Tech is seeking a high-performing Technician for the Propulsion Components Labs in Pontiac, MI. You will perform setup/teardown of test articles and instrumentation, collect data, and validate quality while collaborating with engineers on new procedures and methods.

The role emphasizes diagnosing, instrumentation installation, and developing standard work for new tests. Candidates should have automotive experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year technical degree (automotive schools acceptable)
• At least 3 years of automotive experience
• Hands-on mechanical knowledge with hand tools
• Experience with setup/installation of component-level testing
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in team settings and on shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Efficiently perform setup and teardown of test articles and instrumentation
• Collect, review, and validate testing data for accuracy and quality
• Interface with engineers, updating on new procedures, equipment and methods
• Conduct diverse testing focused on transmission/drive unit components
• Install instrumentation and perform diagnostics
• Develop Standard Work for new tests
• Apply problem-solving to drive continuous improvement in testing processes
