Job summary

SA-TECH is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technician to support Dugway Proving Ground programs. The role emphasizes calibration, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of mechanical test equipment, with responsibilities including welding test fixtures and assembling exhaust systems.

Candidate should have 3+ years of relevant experience, be able to operate in an industrial DoD setting, and maintain a DoD security clearance. On-site work at Dugway with strong safety practices is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ experience with calibration, operation, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of mechanical test equipment.
• Experience building exhaust systems and high-level preventative maintenance.
• Proficient in design, fabrication, and welding of test fixtures.
• Experience with vibration systems and cryogenic liquids, high-pressure liquids, and oxygen displacing vapors is desired.
• Must pass background checks and maintain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, operate, maintain, fabricate, and repair mechanical test equipment.
• Build exhaust systems as needed.
• Perform high-level preventative maintenance including replacing worn belts, greasing bearings, repairing fans and blowers, adjusting dampers and hood baffles.
• Fabricate and weld test fixtures.
• Utilize instrumentation such as temperature, humidity, air velocity, pH, conductivity, and particulates.
• Other duties as assigned.
