Job summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Technician in El Segundo, CA to support fabrication, integration and test of space flight systems. You will interpret blueprints, operate machine tools and assist design and manufacturing teams.

The role is onsite on 2nd shift, requiring US citizenship for security clearance and union alignment with IAM. Candidates should have 5+ years in mechanical assembly and be able to lift 20 lbs and work in controlled environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in structures/mechanical assembly or related fields.
• 3+ years following work instructions and drawings.
• 3+ years using precision measuring tools.
• Experience with materials such as adhesives, composites, epoxy, laminates or resins.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, tests, and inspects mechanical spacecraft assemblies from blueprints and specs.
• Performs verifications and visual inspections to drawings and procedures.
• Operates forklifts, cranes and other GSE as required.
• Works with Design/Manufacturing Eng., Materials, Procurement and Shipping on quality issues.
• Cross-trains/mentors new hires.
