Job description

• Support Mechanical Systems engineering activities for the BWRX-300 SMR system design and coordinate with site construction activities
• Perform analysis and design work supporting system requirements and specifications
• Coordinate and manage the disposition of Field Change Notices and Non-Conformances Reports
• Provide technical advice and support to solve site problems
• Serve as a key member of the Systems Engineering leadership team
• Deliver technical and engineering work needed to support BWRX-300 SMR design
• Liaise with customers in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management
• Interface with cross-functional teams and departments to complete system design activities
• Coordinate design deliverables during fabrication, procurement, and construction phases
• Support mechanical system engineering during design and construction activities
• Ensure projects are constructed according to plans and specifications
• Address technical issues between construction, fabrication, and design teams
• Monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Undertake corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role
• Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear system design activities, including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer calculations, and engineering specifications
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for U.S.-based positions
• Legal authorization to work in Canada for Canadian-based positions
• Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
• Citizenship eligibility under U.S. Export Control Laws or specific authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy
• Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining commitment to personal and nuclear safety principles
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Established project management skills
• Ontario P. Eng license strongly preferred for Canadian applicants
