Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) seeks an engineer to lead rear steel suspension design and integration within vehicle programs. You will collaborate across teams to develop requirements, specifications, and validation plans for durable, serviceable suspension systems.

The role emphasizes leadership, CAD proficiency, and cross-functional communication to deliver cost-effective, high‑quality truck solutions. Hybrid work in Portland, OR is available with a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years of experience.
• At least 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experience.
• Experience leading projects.
• Teaching others relevant Engineering concepts and tools.
• Leading and mentoring others in identifying/solving root causes.
• Strong CAD expertise.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Experience developing creative design solutions for truck systems.
• Experience designing parts in multiple processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead proprietary rear steel suspension integration projects within vehicle development programs.
• Represent team in Technical Staff Meetings and cross-functional meetings.
• Develop system-level requirements and validation plans for rear steel suspensions.
• Design rear steel suspension systems that are manufacturable, durable, and serviceable.
• Collaborate with suspension suppliers to design and validate rear steel suspensions.
• Engage external and internal partners to meet cost, performance, and quality targets.
• Provide technical guidance on rear steel suspensions to customers.
• Drive continuous improvement and proactive stakeholder communication.
