General Motors Corporation invites applications for a Design Release Engineer focused on suspension for full-size truck programs. You will own the design, release, integration, and lifecycle management of suspension hardware, collaborating with Vehicle Dynamics and cross-functional teams to meet ride, handling, durability, NVH, and packaging targets.

You will lead design reviews, coordinate validation activities (K&C, rig, durability, vehicle evaluations), and ensure released hardware aligns

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle suspension design, development, or release.
  • Direct design-release responsibility for suspension systems or components on vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and release of suspension components and systems across assigned range.
  • Translate vehicle targets into component requirements, including performance, durability, NVH, and load cases.
  • Develop and maintain robust suspension designs for packaging, mounting, travel, and serviceability.
  • Own technical definition and release of suspension hardware, including 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics and cross-functional teams to optimize suspension performance across programs.
  • Plan and execute component, subsystem, and vehicle-level validation (K&C, rig, durability, vehicle evaluations).
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions through design updates and production.
