Job summary

Rocket Lab USA, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (I, II, Senior I, Senior II) - Mechanical to ensure quality for procured mechanical parts and services. You will translate technical requirements into clear specifications for suppliers and drive quality improvements, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong communication, supplier auditing, CAPA management, and experience with GD&T, PPAP, and PFMEA.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated industry (Aerospace/Medical/Automotive/Industrial) or similar.
• Strong GD&T and drawing interpretation abilities.
• Prior supplier quality role experience is required.
• Experience with non-conformance, CAPA, and root cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality strategies for machined components and processes.
• Perform supplier audits, manage concessions, and drive corrective actions.
• Create quality plans, PFMEA, and CAPA processes to reduce risk and cost.
• Support suppliers in scaling production to meet targets.
• Lead and participate in NPI/APQP/PPAP activities with suppliers.
• Collaborate with design/engineering and management to ensure manufacturability.
