Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (I, II, Senior I, Senior II) in Mechanical to ensure quality of procured mechanical components, services and processes. You will liaise between customers and suppliers, drive robust quality processes, perform audits, manage concessions and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

You’ll collaborate with design and engineering to resolve manufacturability issues, develop supplier QA systems, and support NPI/APQP/PPAP across programs, including

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated industries (Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, Industrial, or similar).
• Proficiency with GD&T and drawing interpretation.
• Previous experience in a supplier quality role.
• Strong communication and problem-solving in supplier quality environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality strategies for machined components and processes.
• Conduct supplier audits and manage non-conformances and CAPA.
• Create and maintain supplier quality plans, PPAP/NPI alignment, and APQP processes.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to address manufacturability and tolerance stack-ups.
• Lead supplier root-cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce risk and cost.
• Support suppliers in scaling production to meet future targets and participate in on-site and remote audits.
