Job summary

Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, seeks an experienced technician in Warren, MI to repair gearboxes and electric motors and diagnose motor failures. You will remove bearings, measure with calipers/micrometers, and use a multimeter to test components.

Travel for training may be required to other Paragon branches. Applicants must own basic hand tools and demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to pass drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work first shift.
• May be required to work overtime.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and email.
• Experience with mechanical equipment repairs.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings/prints.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Able to pass drug screening and background check.
• Root-cause analysis training is a plus.
• Overhead crane training is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

• Repair all major brands of gearboxes and electric motors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot failures of electric motors.
• Remove and install bearings.
• Use calibers and micrometers.
• Use multimeter.
• Visually inspect gears and determine pass/fail.

Requirements

• Must be able to work first shift.
• May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.
• Computer skills required (word, excel, email).
• Must have experience with mechanical equipment/repairs.
• Must own basic hand tools.
• Must be well organized and high level of attention to detail.
• Must have basic understanding of mechanical prints.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
• Root cause analysis training a plus.
• Overhead crane training.

Work Details

• Willing to travel for training outside the state of Michigan.
• Willing to travel to other Paragon branches.
• Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and squat.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds (light hand tools, etc.). Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.

Location & Compensation

Location: Warren, MI

Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience level.
