Job summary

Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, seeks a skilled technician to troubleshoot and repair gearboxes and electric motors. The role requires reading mechanical prints and performing diagnostics to ensure proper operation.

The position is first shift with possible overtime. Travel to training and other Paragon branches may be required, with compensation reflecting experience and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical equipment/repairs.
• Must own basic hand tools.
• Basic understanding of mechanical prints.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
• Root cause analysis training a plus.
• Overhead crane training

Responsibilities

• Repair all major brands of gearboxes.
• Able to repair and test electric motors.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose failures of electric motors.
• Remove and install bearings.
• Use calipers and micrometers and multimeter.
• Visually inspect gears and determine pass/fail.

Description

The position will require the ability to trouble shoot and repair all major brands of gearboxes and electric motors.

Must be able to work first shift.

May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

Job Responsibilities

• Computer skills required (word, excel, email).
• Repair all major brands of gearboxes.
• Able to repair and test electric motors.
• Able to trouble shoot and properly diagnose failures of electric motor.
• Able to remove and install bearings.
• Able to use calibers and micrometers
• Able to use multimeter
• Able to visually inspect gears and determine pass/fail

• Must have experience with mechanical equipment/repairs.

• Must be well organized and high level of attention to detail.
• Must have basic understanding of mechanical prints.

Travel Requirements

• Willing to travel for training outside the state of Michigan
• Willing to travel to other Paragon branches

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and squat. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds (light hand tools, etc.) Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
