Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to guide project teams and drive opportunities through top-tier service and precise project execution. The role emphasizes customer satisfaction, quality assurance, and leadership within a dynamic MEP environment.

You will mentor managers and engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring adherence to our safety and quality standards across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of related project management experience in mechanical/plumbing contracting for commercial, high-rise, or multi-family construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC plans for large-scale projects (VRF/VRF, DX, Water Source Heat Pumps, Chilled Water, duct work).
  • Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to providing responsive, top-tier customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple mechanical projects and meet financial targets while upholding quality standards.
  • Mentor project managers, assistant PMs, and project engineers on the team.
  • Support field supervisors with training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and high service quality.
  • Oversee materials, budgeting, and production for assigned projects.
  • Plan and schedule resources to meet milestones.
  • Coordinate scope changes and communications with customers and project staff.
  • Manage project documents through designated document management systems.

About the Position

Position Responsibilities
  • Manage all business aspects of multiple concurrent Mechanical projects and ensure financial targets are met while maintaining established quality standards
  • Supervise and mentor project managers, assistant project managers and project engineers on the project team
  • Support and directly manage field supervisors including training, scheduling, and employee performance reviews
  • Actively maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and quality of service
  • Manage all activities associated with materials, budgeting, and production for assigned project(s)
  • Plan and schedule resources to meet project milestones
  • Act as liaison with the customer and project staff to properly identify and process scope changes, address issues, communicate regarding project milestones, etc.
  • Manage project related correspondence and documents through designated document management systems
  • Ensure adherence to Power Design's standards of quality, safety, and best practices
Here's What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 10 years of related project management experience with a mechanical/plumbing contractor required within the commercial, high-rise or multi-family residential construction sector
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to read and interpret plans of Mechanical HVAC systems used in large-scale construction projects including VRF/VRF, DX Split, Water Source Heat Pumps, Chilled Water, and duct work
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines
  • Commitment to providing responsive, top-tier customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and efficient
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Oracle (or other formalized project management software) and Accubid (or other estimating software) preferred
  • Experience with remote project management (with only occasional visits to job site) preferred
