Job summary

ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network is seeking an onsite Mechanical Project Engineer for a 12-month contract based in the New Orleans (Waggaman) area. The role ensures OSBL equipment is delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, while supporting startup and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 10–15+ years in petrochemical construction or PM in refinery environments, a mechanical engineering degree, and familiarity with CMMS (SAP/AMS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; PMP/LEED desirable.
• 10–15+ years in petrochemicals/refinery construction or project management.
• 5+ years in project engineering, asset management, or industrial operations.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, AMS).

Responsibilities

• Oversee OSBL equipment portfolio at the Waggaman site.
• Lead OSBL unit equipment projects from selection to closeout.
• Develop, monitor, and control budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontractors, and change orders.
• Ensure safety, design, and regulatory compliance for projects.
• Engage with owners, report status and risks to stakeholders.
• Support startup, commissioning, and performance testing of new equipment.
• Prepare data, reports, and executive-level presentations.
