Job summary

ECI Group’s client seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer for EMC and DMC unit oversight in a 12‑month onsite contract at a Waggaman, LA facility. The role focuses on startup, commissioning, and reliable operation of modular equipment packages, with cross-functional collaboration across operations and quality teams.

The ideal candidate brings 10–15+ years in petrochemical/construction PM, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong leadership and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–15+ years in Petrochem/Chemicals/Refinery construction or PM.
• Experience in manufacturing and utilities.
• Knowledge of modular skid equipment delivery and commissioning.
• Familiar with budgeting, scheduling, and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EMC and DMC modular unit delivery, construction, startup and commissioning.
• Lead projects through delivery, permitting, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Develop and monitor budgets, identify variances, report status.
• Create detailed schedules, manage dependencies and resources.
• Support procurement, subcontractor management and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Engage with stakeholders and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Prepare performance reports and executive-level presentations.
