Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead design and construction administration for mission‑critical facilities. You will develop mechanical systems, prepare construction documents, and coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and architectural teams to deliver high‑quality designs.

The role requires a strong foundation in engineering design, problem-solving, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant industry-related experience in design of industrial, Mission Critical, commercial, government, academic, R&D, and similar projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Carrier HAP. CFD knowledge in Cadence Reality DC (6Sigma) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design complex mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Design, specify, and layout mechanical systems per project type (ductwork, piping equipment, schedules, notes) per drafting standards.
• Create reports such as basis of designs, narratives, field observations, letters to AHJs, etc.
• Oversee designs through project construction/completion and communicate with team and client.
• Conduct field observations to document existing conditions and report on construction progress.
