Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Detroit seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC design on research, healthcare and higher education projects.

You will guide the discipline team, develop innovative solutions, and ensure alignment with client needs and project partners. You’ll contribute to energy‑efficient building solutions, mentor teammates, and collaborate across disciplines on high‑impact projects.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years of HVAC design experience for research, healthcare or higher education facilities.
• Professional engineering registration preferred.
• Proficiency with engineering design tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process on assigned projects within a discipline.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions aligned with project and client needs.
• Lead the discipline team in implementing the solutions.
