Connect-Force in Southeast Michigan (location confidential) seeks a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to drive complex machinery from concept through completion with a hands-on design focus.

This role emphasizes owning technical projects, collaborating with designers, controls, and manufacturing, and maintaining active involvement in engineering processes beyond traditional PM duties.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience with custom machinery.
• Proficient in 3D CAD: SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo.
• Experience interpreting detailed engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through design, assembly, testing, and completion.
• Remain actively involved in mechanical design, engineering reviews, and problem solving.
• Develop, review, and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, controls engineers, manufacturing personnel, and machine builders.
• Translate customer specifications into practical mechanical solutions.
• Identify and resolve design issues involving tolerances and manufacturability.
• Support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
• Coordinate engineering changes and provide technical direction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects meet technical specs, quality expectations, and delivery schedules.
