Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited university
• 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical/MEP design
• Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems
• Project management experience for small to mid-size projects a plus
• Construction administration experience or knowledge of installation/maintenance of mechanical systems helpful
• PE license required; commissioning certification/experience is a plus
• Must successfully complete JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and assessments to determine best practice mechanical design solutions
• Conduct field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, code reviews
• Produce mechanical design documents (drawings and specifications) for bidding and construction
• Oversee the design and drafting tasks of junior engineering staff, and perform quality control reviews
• Coordinate project designs with client specifications and local code requirements
• Navigate complex issues in preparing mechanical designs and assisting Owner/Architect/Contractor with field issues
• Serve as project manager on small to medium projects with a significant mechanical design component
• Proactive problem solving and ownership of responsibility for quality
