Job summary

WestRock Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5–10 years' project engineering experience to lead capital projects across the Solvay Mill.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in project engineering and construction management.
• Process and piping system design is a plus.
• Pulp/paper manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, pumping systems, PLC/DCS controls.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with ability to influence others.
• Ability to manage projects from conception through execution.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate performance of mechanical and electromechanical systems to select best replacement option.
• Manage large capital projects to improve mill productivity.
• Meet with stakeholders to develop project needs and provide technical support.
• Develop scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
• Publish detailed project plans for engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Manage project documentation from inception to close-out.
• Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
• Prepare and submit project progress reports as required.
• Provide engineering support to mill operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate internal and external support services for projects.
