Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply diverse design experience and mechanical engineering expertise to capital projects across mill operations. Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in Project Engineering/Construction Management.
• Process and Piping System design a plus.
• Pulp/Paper manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, pumping systems, paper machine auxiliary equipment, and PLC/DCS Controls.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage projects from conception through development and execution.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating the performance of mechanical and electromechanical systems to determine best option for replacement.
• Managing large capital projects to improve mill productivity.
• Meeting with project stakeholders to develop project needs and provide engineering support.
• Developing scope, schedule, and budget plans for assigned projects.
• Preparing detailed project plans for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Managing project documentation from inception through close out.
• Providing engineering support to mill operations and maintenance.
