Job summary

Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, seeks a Mechanical Product Design Engineer in Seattle to bridge Industrial Design and mechanical engineering, translating concepts into manufacturable solutions.

You will collaborate across Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and manufacturing to develop and validate production-ready designs, with a strong emphasis on prototyping using Siemens NX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical/product design experience, ideally consumer electronics or wearables.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Siemens NX for 3D CAD modeling and assemblies.
• Experience collaborating with Industrial Design teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Strong front-end development experience including concept development, feasibility, prototyping, mechanical architecture, and design iteration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Industrial Designers to translate design concepts into technically feasible mechanical solutions.
• Drive front-end product development from concept exploration to rapid prototyping and design iteration.
• Develop mechanical solutions that preserve the intended product aesthetics, form, and function.
• Create and refine 3D CAD models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Build and evaluate high-fidelity prototypes, mockups, mechanisms, and proof-of-concept hardware.
• Evaluate materials, manufacturing processes, component packaging, and assembly methods during early development.
• Collaborate across ID, PDE, EE, manufacturing, and other teams to move concepts toward production.
• Identify risks and design constraints early while minimizing impact on the original design intent.
• Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance analysis as concepts mature toward production.
• Work with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to develop and validate novel components, processes, and product solutions.
