Job summary

Lifestream Watersystems, Inc. in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to design and support custom RO and water treatment systems for marine, municipal, industrial, and commercial applications.

The role covers full project lifecycle—from process design and equipment selection through fabrication, testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related engineering discipline
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred
• Experience with reverse osmosis, desalination, industrial water treatment, process equipment, packaged systems, or similar equipment strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of pumps, piping, valves, pressure vessels, instrumentation, and process equipment
• Ability to read and develop P&IDs and engineering drawings
• Experience taking engineered equipment from design through fabrication and commissioning
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability
• Comfortable working directly with production personnel and customers
• Ability to independently manage engineering assignments and priorities
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Willingness to travel periodically for commissioning, service, and customer support
• Experience with seawater RO, marine equipment, military/government projects, municipal water treatment, electrical controls, PLC-based systems, or AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design reverse osmosis, desalination, filtration, and packaged water treatment systems
• Develop and review P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and bills of material
• Size and select pumps, membranes, pressure vessels, filters, valves, instrumentation, piping, and related equipment
• Review customer specifications and develop compliant technical solutions
• Support preparation of technical proposals and customer clarification responses
• Work directly with production personnel during system fabrication and testing
• Develop FAT procedures and participate in or lead factory acceptance testing
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites
• Work directly with customers, suppliers, contractors, and Lifestream personnel to resolve technical issues
• Maintain and improve engineering standards, calculations, documentation, and design practices
• Document legacy systems and support continued development of standardized Lifestream designs

Lifestream Watersystems is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Process Engineer to join our engineering team designing and supporting custom reverse osmosis and water treatment systems for marine, military, municipal, industrial, and commercial applications.

This is a hands‑on engineering position with responsibility throughout the complete project lifecycle—from initial process design and equipment selection through fabrication, factory testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.

Compensation
