Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is assisting a large regional mechanical contractor in the Buffalo, WV area to hire a Mechanical Project Manager for data center projects valued over $85 million. The role oversees all phases from award to closeout, manages budgets, schedules, and change orders, and interfaces with owners and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of mechanical project management experience on large commercial, institutional, or government programs, a proven team

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on commercial, institutional, or government projects with budgets over $10 million.
• Proven track record of managing project teams with strong project controls and financial management.
• Ability to establish and adhere to project timelines and budgets.
• Experience with change order estimation and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of assigned projects from award to completion.
• Coordinate with project schedulers to ensure timelines are met.
• Estimate and negotiate change orders, maintaining accurate change order logs.
• Manage project budgets, approving expenses and ensuring adherence to financial plans.
• Administer project contracts and subcontracts.
• Oversee buyout of subcontracts and equipment procurement.
• Maintain communication with project owners to align goals.
• Ensure complete project records and close-out documentation.
• Conduct punch-list inspections with superintendent and owner's rep and issue lists.
• Foster relationships with past clients to secure repeat business.
