Job summary

Methanex Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Planner to drive the execution of mechanical and rotating turnaround and capital work orders. You will craft detailed plans, specify parts and skills, and coordinate resources to maximize safety, uptime and productivity across turnarounds, capital projects and routine maintenance.

The role requires strong planning, cost control, and scheduling abilities with collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Engineering to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience working with fixed equipment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with rotating equipment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Turnaround planning.
• Scheduling knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field walkdowns to validate job scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed work packages for mechanical and rotating equipment including scope, sequence, labor and materials.
• Identify safety hazards, permits, isolation requirements, and long‑lead materials early.
• Coordinate execution support during turnarounds and critical jobs with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
• Track job progress and schedules to ensure timely closure of work orders.
• Maintain BOMs and spare parts inventory; support cost tracking and variance analysis.
