Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc. is seeking a mechanical/piping designer in Birmingham, AL to support complete designs under supervision.

You will assist in designing moderately complex piping systems, create P&ID drawings, GA layouts, and verify specifications with project teams. The role requires 4+ years of experience, an associate degree in engineering tech or CAD, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge of piping materials, supports, restraints and valve sizing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical/piping assignments under supervision.
• Develop design and drafting of moderately complex piping drawings from P&ID, GA, equipment drawings, and specs.
• Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings and support field design activities on site.
