Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our Salt Lake City team. The role emphasizes mechanical and piping design under general supervision, with opportunities to prepare proposals and coordinate with project staff.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of related experience or an advanced degree in lieu of experience, with travel minimal and field oversight possible. The position requires HS diploma and a background in mechanical design.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 10+ years of related mechanical design experience.
• Advanced degree acceptable in lieu of 10 years’ experience.
• MSHA training and refresher training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage mechanical and piping design tasks on public and private sector projects.
• Coordinate with client representatives and project team personnel.
• Prepare work plans, design studies, reports and cost estimates.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of junior and intermediate staff on projects.
• Provide technical direction to drafters, designers, technicians, and field personnel.
• Travel as needed.
