Job summary

Marathon Petroleum's Los Angeles Refinery in Carson, CA seeks a Senior Routine Maintenance Planner – Mechanical to develop maintenance work packages for outages and planned events within the Major Maintenance organization.

The role involves detailed planning, cost and labor-hour estimation, and coordination with Operations, Engineering, and contractors. Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with after-hours support during events.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years mechanical maintenance or maintenance planning in refinery, petrochemical, or power generation.
• Must read and interpret P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
• Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; able to wear PPE including respirator.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Convert approved SAP notifications into maintenance work orders following established processes.
• Develop detailed mechanical maintenance job plans with steps, labor hours, craft requirements, and material lists.
• Plan routine maintenance and outages for refinery mechanical equipment and supporting systems.
• Provide field support during execution of planned maintenance events and outages; resolve issues and coordinate emergent needs.
• Read P&IDs and drawings to develop work scopes and verify planning assumptions.
