Job summary

Burlington Group seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer to lead a team on heavy automated equipment projects in the aluminium smelting industry. The role involves design, drafting, analysis, and report writing to deliver integrated mechanical solutions.

You will collaborate with process, electrical, and software engineers to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality products, with duties spanning layouts, modeling, calculations, and vendor interfacing.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and leading design teams.
• Proficient in 2D layouts and 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and HSE standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and optimization of systems.
• Create 2D layouts as a basis for Basic+Detail engineering.
• Create 2D drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Prepare design calculations.
• Create Part Numbers in the PCS and VAULT system.
• Support the generation of component specifications and purchasing requests.
• Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Create O&M manuals, BOMs.
• Assist with the creation of project-related documentation and design specifications.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and well-functioning products and systems.
• Ensure all designs and manufacturing processes adhere to legal and company safety standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices.
• Support sales providing layouts, calculations, bill of quantities, etc.
• Follow established work procedures and instructions as per ISO 9001 standard.
• Follow established HSE regulations.

Within the Burlington Group there is a need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer. In this existing position you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, analysis, and report writing. You will play a key role leading a team of designers and engineers on projects related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment utilized in the Aluminium Smelting industry. Your Key Responsibilities :
