Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead capital projects for primary metals and heavy industrial clients in the Reading area. You will oversee assignments from initial investigation and field survey through design, specification and implementation.

The role requires experience with production machinery, hydraulics/pneumatics, ventilation, process piping and combustion equipment, plus proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks and related design tools.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering required; EIT preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of capital equipment design and procurement.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and related design tools.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards.
• Experience in metals processing equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Permanent position for a Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting capital projects for primary metals and heavy industrial manufacturing clients.
• Responsible for engineering assignments from initial investigation and field survey through design, specification and implementation.
• Survey existing mechanical systems and equipment in operating plants to establish as-found conditions.
• Develop mechanical designs for production machinery, fluid power systems, industrial ventilation, process piping and combustion equipment.
• Prepare capital equipment specifications and support fabrication and procurement.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver engineering work products within established budget, schedule and quality requirements.
• BS Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with design, specification, fabrication and procurement of capital equipment for the metals industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of current mechanical codes and standards.
• Design experience in machine design, hydraulics/pneumatics, dust collection/industrial ventilation, process piping/pipe supports and combustion systems.
• Aluminum process experience such as melting/holding/casting, extrusion, etc.
• Steel/ titanium process experience.
• Specialty melt/remelt experience (VIM, VAR, ESR) a plus.
• E.I.T. certification and software-based pipe stress analysis a plus.
• Experience with Revit, Plant 3D, Inventor or SolidWorks a plus.
