Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time mechanical inspections with a governmental jurisdiction at a level equivalent to Mechanical Inspector I.
• One year of full-time general plumbing or HVAC installation/repair plus a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Two years of professional experience with a governmental jurisdiction or private contracting with a government for mechanical/plumbing inspections.
• Three years of experience reviewing/designing mechanical/plumbing plans for conformance to codes.
• Four years of journey-level plumbing or HVAC installation/repair work.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and plumbing inspections of plumbing, gas, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) in new buildings and repair/renovation work.
• Inspect multi-family, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with codes and regulations; review plans for conformance.
• Check field conformance, enforce compliance, and prepare reports and correction notices.
• May assist in training and perform other duties as assigned.
