Job summary

State of Oklahoma Compliance Inspector III will enforce the mechanical licensing act, coordinate with public and private groups on licensing and code standards, and gather information for reports and hearings. The role is home-based with extensive in-state travel and possible overnight stays, primarily in southeast Oklahoma counties.

A background check is required, and the candidate must obtain certifications within a year of hire.

Qualifications

• Current, unexpired license as a mechanical journeyman or mechanical contractor in accordance with Oklahoma laws and regs.
• Five+ years of related experience in mechanical licensing and inspections.
• Ability to pass criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

• Investigate licensing and code standards at worksites, travel as needed.
• Prepare inspection and Notice of Violation (NOV) reports; testify at hearings.
• Coordinate with state and local authorities to ensure compliance.
• Present citations and conduct plan reviews when requested.
