Job summary

L.F. Driscoll Company is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to develop and prepare construction Mechanical/Plumbing cost estimates for healthcare, life sciences, and data center projects.

The role involves reviewing plans, taking-offs, bidding, and maintaining estimates across multiple projects from early development through pre-construction. The candidate will use estimating software and Excel to ensure accuracy, identify omissions, and support the project team with updated cost data.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in construction, management, engineering or architecture required.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, engineering, or related duties.
• Strong computer skills and budgeting/purchasing capabilities.
• Honesty, accountability and reliability are essential assets.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and MEP drawings and prepare quantity take-offs for healthcare, life sciences, and data center projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Analyze bids for conformance to specifications, price and quality; resolve questions with subcontractors.
• Build and maintain centralized estimating data and improve estimating procedures.
