Job summary

McGraw Kokosing seeks a Mechanical Estimator to manage large-scale piping estimates for on-site fabrication and capital projects. You will work with vendors for pricing, organize estimates, and present findings to leadership while coordinating with field management on constructability and schedules.

The role emphasizes accurate, timely bid preparation and collaboration across departments to ensure complete, competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent construction-related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of estimating experience or 5+ years of applicable experience in the mechanical construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize and coordinate opportunities; review bid documents for completeness and identify gaps or risks.
• Set up the estimate and schedule; prepare responsibility matrix and coordinate with team members.
• Ensure pricing reflects current labor, material and equipment costs.
• Prepare bid and proposal documents including clarifications, exclusions and commercial terms.
• Lead internal estimate review meetings and present estimates to leadership.
