Job summary

Cobalt Search is seeking an experienced Estimator to take ownership of mechanical projects from initial bid through to completion. You will produce competitive estimates that drive profitable delivery.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, managing schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals and change orders while maintaining cost control and gross margin. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in commercial mechanical construction, strong estimating expertise for large-scale

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience estimating and managing commercial mechanical construction projects.
• Strong estimating expertise with large-scale mechanical estimates and a track record of competitive bids.
• Experience with CIS and confidently interpreting drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed estimates, including takeoffs, labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and bid documents to identify risks, exclusions and value engineering opportunities.
• Managing projects from award through completion, including schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals and change orders.
• Maintaining control of project budgets, forecasts, gross margin and profitability.
• Building strong relationships with clients, engineers, architects, field teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
