Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our Menlo Park, CA office. The role coordinates with VP of Estimating and senior staff in the performance of all mechanical trade preconstruction responsibilities, including HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection.

You will prepare cost models, analyze bids, and help drive accurate estimates from concept through design development, while maintaining bidability and constructibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Mechanical.
• 12–15 years of mechanical trades estimating with major contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaboration skills.
• OSHPD/HCAI experience and DBIA certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual cost models/budgets for mechanical trades (HVAC/Plumbing/Piping/Fire Protection).
• Prepare detailed estimates as documents progress in design.
• Solicit, receive and analyze proposals/bids from subcontractors.
• Recommend award and prepare subcontracts.
• Review basis of design, plans and specifications; ensure bidability.
• Assist design team to ensure constructible and cost-effective docs.
• Coordinate with estimating team for project goals and kickoff.
