Job summary

The Austin Company in Mayfield Heights, OH is seeking a senior estimator to independently handle complex construction estimates. You will prepare quantities, costs, and outlines for mechanical projects, collaborating with engineering and procurement to ensure accuracy.

Requirements include a 4-year degree in Construction Management, Estimating, or related field and 7–15 years of relevant experience, with a proven ability to lead cost analyses and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field.
• 7–9 years of estimating large, complex construction projects or 10–15 years of equivalent Mechanical estimating experience.
• Experience working with a team on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outline specifications describing the scope of work included in the estimate.
• Ensure accurate quantities of materials and the pricing of these materials in a specific discipline and section of a project.
• Complete estimates in a timely fashion to allow adequate review by superiors.
• Re-evaluate cost estimates during the design phase and prepare change orders for the Estimator’s discipline.
• Coordinate estimating with other disciplines to ensure all elements are accounted for.
• Obtain applicable labor rates and quotations for materials and systems to establish an accurate estimate.
• Organize estimating data and compare to actual costs after construction.
