Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with thermal experience to define system-level mechanical and thermal architecture for IT infrastructure products. You will develop PAP guidance, align cross-functional teams, and translate lessons into standards and best practices for liquid and air cooling.

This role requires Creo/CAD modeling, CFD insight, and strong collaboration across product management and engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical/thermal design experience in IT infrastructure or data centers.
• Experience interpreting thermal simulation results (CFD).
• Knowledge of liquid and air cooling at system level.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Creo preferred).
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, ASME, ANSI, ISO, OSHA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and maintain system-level mechanical and thermal requirements for rack-, row-based products and related infrastructure.
• Drive standardization by defining interfaces, design principles, and architectural requirements across product lines.
• Review mechanical architectures to mitigate compatibility, serviceability, and thermal risks; support design decisions.
• Develop and review 3D models/assemblies (Creo) to resolve conflicts and ensure PAP alignment.
• Collaborate with simulation teams to evaluate thermal compatibility and integration of components.
• Document PAP mechanical/thermal sections and promote adoption across Business Units.
• Translate lessons learned into reusable standards, guidelines, and playbook entries.
