Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical and thermal architecture within IT infrastructure systems. You will define system-level requirements, create guidance, and drive adoption across product lines, covering both liquid and air-cooling technologies.

Responsibilities include standardizing interfaces, reviewing designs, and developing PAP contents while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure adherence to ASHRAE/ISO standards and enabling scalable, reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical/thermal design or systems engineering, preferably IT infra/data center.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Creo preferred) and ability to create/review models.
• Experience interpreting thermal simulation results (CFD).
• Knowledge of liquid and air-cooling systems at the system level.
• Understanding of system-level architecture, interoperability, serviceability, and manufacturability principles.
• Familiarity with standards (ASHRAE, ASME, ISO, etc.).
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document system-level mechanical and thermal architecture requirements for rack- and row-based products.
• Drive standardization across product lines by defining interfaces and design principles.
• Review mechanical architectures to mitigate risks and guide decisions.
• Develop and review 3D models to resolve conflicts and ensure PAP alignment.
• Collaborate with development and simulation teams to evaluate compatibility and integration.
• Provide recommendations to improve integration, reliability, and deployment experience.
• Maintain PAP mechanical/thermal sections and status across Business Units.
• Translate lessons learned into reusable standards and best practices.
