Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for education, healthcare, and government projects. You will engage clients, guide projects from concept through construction, and mentor junior staff to deliver measurable energy savings.

You will collaborate with architects and owners to define goals, ensure code compliance, and stay at the forefront of sustainable design with LEED/Green Globes strategies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through construction.
• Develop energy-efficient solutions that meet client expectations.
• Oversee projects from start to finish including site visits and construction support.
• Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and Owners to define goals.
• Review documents and submittals for code compliance and integrity.
• Mentor junior staff and share best practices.
• Support performance contracting projects delivering energy savings.
• Stay current with LEED or Green Globes and sustainable design practices.
