Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll design HVAC and mechanical systems across sectors such as education, healthcare, and government, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver high‑performance, energy‑savvy solutions.

You’ll work from concept through construction, staying at the forefront of sustainable design while contributing to projects that make a real impact in communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 3+ years designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
• EIT certification.
• Experience with energy modeling and building codes.
• Experience in K-12, higher education, healthcare, or public sector.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems from concept through construction.
• Develop energy-efficient solutions that exceed client expectations.
• Collaborate on projects from start to finish, including site visits, drawings, specs, construction support.
• Work with architects, engineers, owners to define goals and resolve challenges.
• Review documents and contractor submittals to ensure code compliance and design integrity.
• Support performance contracting projects delivering energy savings.
• Stay on the leading edge of sustainable design, integrating LEED/Green Globes.
