Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech Company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our San Francisco team. You will lead HVAC design across multiple markets, serve as Engineer of Record on select projects, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with architects and contractors.

You will drive sustainable, code-compliant systems, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute to the growth of the local practice in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active California Professional Engineer license.
• 10+ years leading mechanical/HVAC design across diverse projects.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through occupancy.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor staff and drive results.
• Strong leadership with complex project delivery accuracy.
• Knowledge of building/mechanical codes and regional requirements.
• Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of mechanical engineering projects across sectors.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and ensure code compliance and constructability.
• Develop sustainable HVAC designs optimizing performance and energy use.
• Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and client communications.
• Coordinate design work with architects, contractors, and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor and train junior engineers; lead QC for deliverables.
• Utilize industry software and modeling tools to inform design decisions.
