SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join the Starbase team in developing hardware for interplanetary missions. The role focuses on designing and building flight hardware such as propellant tanks and structures, collaborating across teams, and validating designs through rigorous analysis and tests. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design. This position may require extended hours and physical work at heights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with mechanical design and analysis.
• Experience designing, analyzing, building, and testing high-performance mechanical systems.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop design concepts from scratch and size vehicle structures based on flight loads.
• Collaborate across vehicle systems to develop balanced designs.
• Create detailed designs and generate CAD models for components and assemblies.
• Validate designs by conducting structural tests and analyses.
